Exhibition: A Book is a Window

A Book is A Window Flyer Bounty Archive Art Show

Location: Blank Mag Books NYC (17 Eldridge St)

Date: August 15-17, 2025

A Book is a Window was the debut exhibition for book artist Bounty Archive, featuring more than a dozen original artists’ books shown for the first time.

Selected works were chosen for their window-like motifs or elements that otherwise suggest collaboration from viewers and environment.

We’ve all heard something to the effect of: “A book is a window into another world.” Through the window of bookbinding, Bounty Archive sees endless possibility for bound paper to extend beyond its traditional role as a carrier of text.

An opening reception was held on Friday August 15th. Guests were encouraged to interact with the books and experience the works firsthand.

With A Book is a Window, Bounty Archive’s bookbinding practice leapt off the internet and into the physical realm.

Alongside the exhibition, a series of public workshops introduced participants to the craft of bookbinding. Attendees created their own hardcover notebooks while learning about the techniques and traditions that inform the works on display. Tools and Materials were provided by Talas, in Brooklyn.

To commemorate the show, an edition of 100 concertina programs were made by hand.
